Alternatives to Xero
The selector keeps Xero for landlords and sole traders, including people with both kinds of income. Its cheapest plan is listed as £7 plus VAT a month (Simple). Of the 13 other products on this page, 10 differ from it on a free plan, five on bank feeds and four on support for jointly owned property. Xero suits landlords with multiple properties, sole traders who also need payroll and anyone already using an accountant on Xero, and we checked its prices on 25 October 2026.
If it does not fit, these are the other products the selector keeps for the same people. They are in the order the selector itself uses: how well each one fits that kind of income first, then the price, then the name. Each one’s cheapest plan and the points where it differs from Xero come from our checks of the provider’s own pages, so where we say a product does not offer something, it means we did not find it there.
If you already use Xero for Making Tax Digital, the guide to changing your MTD software explains what GOV.UK says about when you can move and what happens to your records.
