HMRC-recognised for MTD ITSA
RentalBux
A landlord-first MTD app that also covers self-employment income, with a free tier for one property or simple self-employment and paid tiers priced by income type.
Web / iOS / Android
Its current entry first appeared in HMRC's software list data on 5 September 2025. See the HMRC list timeline for what that date means.
The situations where RentalBux is most likely to make sense
Landlords with a single property or straightforward self-employment wanting a free MTD option, landlords who also need to file self-employment income in the same app, and joint owners who need income and expenses split by ownership percentage.
What the published plan prices look like

| Landlord | £4.50/mo | billed yearly; a separate monthly-billing rate was not shown on the pages checked; VAT is excluded from the displayed price |
| Self-Employed | £5.75/mo | billed yearly; a separate monthly-billing rate was not shown on the pages checked; VAT is excluded from the displayed price |

A note before you decide
RentalBux's dedicated pricing page loads its plan table with client-side script that did not render in this review; the plan names and prices recorded here come from the fully rendered homepage text instead, checked on 26 September 2026. The site states 'we offer a free plan with full access to features until March 2028. No credit card required to start,' and separately that paid plans run free until a first MTD submission; the recorded prices are the stated regular billed-yearly rates, not that trial period. The site describes portfolio landlords with several properties and joint owners who split income and expenses by ownership percentage, so multi-property and joint-ownership support are claimed; a landlord example mentioning furnished holiday lets was a persona description, not a stated feature, so FHL support is not claimed. Mileage tracking and accountant access were not found on the pages checked and are not claimed.
The practical features that matter for MTD use
