About Acrenvo
Acrenvo helps UK landlords and sole traders choose software for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. The site stays narrow on purpose: one tax change, one type of decision, and a dataset small enough to check carefully.
HMRC publishes the official list of recognised software, and that is the right place to confirm whether a product has been through HMRC's recognition process. Acrenvo does a different job. It translates that list into the practical questions people ask before they subscribe: whether the product handles property income, whether it can cope with self-employment as well, how pricing changes by plan, and where the small catches sit.
The compare table, product pages and selector all read from the same product dataset. Prices and feature notes are checked against vendor pages, and the pages show the date each product row was last reviewed. When a price depends on a promotion, a bank account, a usage limit or a separate subscription, the caveat stays visible rather than being hidden in a footnote.
Acrenvo is independently operated. It is not owned by HMRC, an accounting software provider or an accountancy firm. There are no sponsored rankings, affiliate links or paid placements on the site today. If that changes, the funding page explains what changes and what stays protected.
The selector exists because a static table can flatten different situations into one neat answer. A landlord with one property and a consultancy business is not making the same choice as someone with a larger property portfolio. The selector filters products against the answers you give and shows why each product remains in the shortlist. You do not need an account, and the selector is not behind an email wall.
Acrenvo is still a comparison guide, not tax advice. For decisions that affect your tax position, use GOV.UK guidance on choosing MTD software, check the provider's current terms, and speak to a qualified accountant or tax adviser where you need advice for your own circumstances.
