HMRC’s list of software for the Company Tax Return
HMRC’s own online service for company accounts and the Company Tax Return closed on 31 March 2026, and HMRC now asks companies to file the return with commercial software. HMRC publishes a list of the suppliers whose software or services can produce one or more parts of the return, such as the CT600 form or accounts in iXBRL, and this page sets out every section of that list in one place, with HMRC’s own answers for each supplier.
Every answer on this page is HMRC’s. GOV.UK last updated the list on 12 October 2026, and we read it on 13 October 2026. HMRC adds and removes suppliers from time to time, so if one matters to you, HMRC’s own page will have the latest version.
If you are choosing software to file your own company’s return, our page on Company Tax Return (CT600) software and what it costs compares the products that publish their prices, with the date we checked each one.
HMRC’s three software lists
HMRC keeps three separate lists of software, one for each kind of return, and a place on one of them says nothing about the other two. If you are checking whether software is on “HMRC's list”, it helps to look at the list for the return you are sending.
This is the list for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. HMRC builds its software finder from it and describes the finder like this:
“Use this tool to help you find software that meets your needs for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax.”
Our counts come from HMRC’s commit of 30 October 2026, which we read on 1 November 2026.
HMRC's Self Assessment software list
This is the list for the yearly Self Assessment return, and HMRC opens it with this sentence:
“Commercial software suppliers can submit one or more elements of the tax return and supplementary pages to HMRC.”
GOV.UK last updated it on 23 October 2026, and we read it on 31 October 2026.
HMRC's Corporation Tax software list
This page
This is the list for a company’s tax return, and HMRC explains who is on it like this:
“The commercial software and service suppliers listed in this guidance have given evidence that they’ve developed software or manage a service (or both), that can produce one or more elements of a Company Tax Return.”
GOV.UK last updated it on 12 October 2026, and we read it on 13 October 2026.
In HMRC’s words
HMRC’s page for the list says:
“HMRC accepts returns filed using any of the products shown in this document.”
The list itself explains who is on it:
“The commercial software and service suppliers listed in this guidance have given evidence that they’ve developed software or manage a service (or both), that can produce one or more elements of a Company Tax Return.”
HMRC also says that it “is not able to recommend or endorse any one product or service over another”. HMRC did not prepare this page, and Acrenvo is independent of HMRC.
What HMRC’s list held on 12 October 2026
The list names 60 suppliers across its five sections. The main section, for producing and sending the CT600, holds 50 of them, and HMRC answers “Yes” under “Suitable for self-filers” for 38. The three iXBRL sections hold 49, 14 and 11 suppliers, and the Interest Restriction section holds three. Many suppliers appear in more than one section.
11 suppliers in the CT600 section make a product we compare in more depth, and their names link to our page on it. The other suppliers show HMRC’s name and answers only, because we have not reviewed their products and have nothing to add to what HMRC’s list says. You can see the products we compare, with their prices, on company filing software compared.
Reading the sections
HMRC says that a Company Tax Return is made up of the form CT600, any supplementary pages and company accounts and tax computations, and that “The computations and accounts must be in Inline eXtensible Business Reporting Language (iXBRL).” The list has sections for iXBRL suppliers as well as for the CT600, so it helps to check that the software you choose covers every part you need.
Each answer is HMRC’s, copied as HMRC gives it. Where the CT600 section shows “No” under “Suitable for self-filers”, that is HMRC’s answer for the supplier, not a judgement of ours, and the supplier is the one to ask whether its product would suit a company filing its own return.
Produce and submit CT600

The iXBRL sections

Every row is also in a CSV file of HMRC’s Corporation Tax software list, with one line for each supplier in each section, in the same order, and on every line the GOV.UK page, the date GOV.UK updated it and the date we read it. The same list is in the open data API as /api/v1/ct-software-suppliers.json.
Source and licence
The tables come from HMRC’s List of commercial software suppliers for Corporation Tax on GOV.UK. They contain public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We copied each section heading, supplier name and answer exactly as HMRC gives it.
HMRC’s list also links to each supplier’s website, which we leave out, so that a product we have not reviewed is never linked from here. If a supplier interests you, HMRC’s page and the supplier’s own site will have the latest details.
