HMRC-recognised for MTD ITSA

QuickFile

A UK online bookkeeping package with a landlord module for tenants, rent demands and per-property reports. It is free for smaller record sets, but filing under MTD for Income Tax sits in the paid Power User subscription.

Web / iOS / Android

Its current entry first appeared in HMRC's software list data on 25 July 2025. See the HMRC list timeline for what that date means.

The situations where QuickFile is most likely to make sense

Sole traders and landlords who want full bookkeeping for a modest yearly fee, landlords who would like tenants, rent demands and per-property reports kept alongside their accounts, and people who also file VAT returns and would rather keep both in one package.

What the published plan prices look like

QuickFile published plan prices
PlanPriceNotes
Power User (includes MTD for Income Tax)£5/mo£60 plus VAT a year (£72 including VAT), paid annually; the pricing page lists MTD (ITSA) as a Power User feature, so an account on one of the free sizes needs this subscription to file quarterly updates and the year-end return; automated bank feeds are a separate £15 plus VAT a year; accounts with more than 40,000 nominal entries in a rolling year need an enterprise quote

A note before you decide

QuickFile's pricing page shows the extra small, small and medium account sizes (up to 1,000 ledger entries) as free, and the large and extra large sizes at £60 plus VAT a year. The row that reads 'MTD (ITSA) Ready' is ticked only under the paid sizes, and the page explains that smaller accounts reach those features by buying a Power User subscription, so the free sizes are not listed here as an MTD plan and no free MTD tier is claimed. The landlord page describes filing quarterly summaries and end-of-year submissions, a landlord dashboard for tenants and rent demands, per-property income and expenditure reports, receipt capture through the iOS and Android apps, and bank feeds, which are a paid add-on. Accountants can host clients through QuickFile's Affinity practice platform, so accountant access is claimed. Mileage tracking, joint ownership splits and furnished holiday let handling were not found on the pages checked and are not claimed. MTD for VAT returns appear in every account size, including the Power User subscription.
