Good to know

Crunch's software pricing page lists three plans. Crunch Free and Crunch Lite at £4 a month have MTD for Income Tax crossed out, so the cheapest way to file MTD with Crunch is Crunch Plus at £10 a month excluding VAT, which the page says covers all your quarterly updates, the end of year figures and the final declaration. The accountancy package for sole traders starts from £27 a month excluding VAT and depends on an instant quote; Crunch currently takes 20% off the first 3 months, which we have left out of the price. The address HMRC gives for Crunch's pricing now opens that quote form rather than a price list. Crunch's sole trader page says its MTD filing handles more than one income source, including rental income, but when we looked at HMRC's software list it did not show UK property income as available for Crunch, so we treat both plans as being for self-employment income only. Some of Crunch's software page still speaks of being ready by April 2026, while its MTD page describes the software as HMRC recognised. We did not find anything about furnished holiday lets, several properties or jointly owned property. We checked this on 25 October 2026.

What HMRC’s Self Assessment software list says about Crunch

If you are sending a Self Assessment return for the 2025 to 2026 tax year, HMRC keeps a separate list of commercial software for that yearly return, apart from its MTD software list.

HMRC’s Self Assessment software list shows Crunch with the product “Crunch” for the individual return (SA100). For this supplier, HMRC answers “No” under “For agents” and “Yes” under “For individuals”. For the individual return, HMRC’s answer under “Schedules supported” is “SA100, SA102, SA110”, and that answer does not name the UK property pages (SA105).

GOV.UK last updated HMRC’s list on 23 October 2026, and we read it on 31 October 2026. HMRC does not endorse Acrenvo or any product in its list. HMRC’s list of software for your Self Assessment return

Hear about price changes once a month

We’ll email you a link to confirm first. Once you confirm, Acrenvo will send one email a month summarising the MTD software price changes we have checked and any changes to HMRC’s list of software for MTD for Income Tax, with links to the pages on Acrenvo where each change is recorded. Each email may also pick out one dated finding from that month’s record and list the coming MTD for Income Tax deadlines. If nothing changed in a month, we send nothing. In future it may also carry one advert and news of paid guides or templates from Acrenvo, each clearly labelled for what it is. Every email has a stop link, and stopping takes a single click.

This is separate from the deadline reminders, and signing up for one does not sign you up for the other. No account is needed. How we use your email address. Past emails and what each one holds
