Each firm is counted once a month, on the package used for most of its filings that month, and a switch is a firm whose package differs from the one it was last seen on. A firm that writes its name differently in different filings is counted more than once. Firm names are read only in memory and replaced at once by a keyed one-way code; no firm name, code, company number, company name, person or single filing is kept or published. Any count under 10 is written as fewer than 10, a larger count is written as withheld where a total would otherwise reveal a small one, and switches between two packages made by fewer than 10 firms are counted together as other.
